Tarangire Luxury Hideaway lodge

Tarangire Luxury Hideaway lodge is a mid-range accommodation found in Mbesi, at the base of Sangaiwe hill, close to the park’s southern entrance (Sangaiwe gate) near Tarangire national park Tanzania . It offers the stunning views of Lake Burunge and surrounding landscapes for ultimate Wildlife safaris in Tanzania.

How to get there:

It takes approximately 2-3 hours from arusha city to Tarangire Luxury Hideaway lodge and 30 minutes to fly from Arusha airport to the close airstrip. The lodge is situated 3 km from Saingawe gate and 45 miles from Lake manyara airstrip.

About the lodge:

Tarangire Luxury Hideaway lodge contains 20 comfortable AND spacious en suite rooms overlooking the magnificent views of lake Burunge built in traditional building styles.

– Rooms are well decorated, elevated with raised wooden platform and furnished with private en suite facilities  of flushing toilets,  bathroom with hot and cold showers, mosquito nets,  wooden chairs ,  towel  toiletries, complementary bottled water, and wash basins to mention but a few.

-Rooms have balconies, verandas and large sitting areas; you relax while overlooking the stunning view over the Tarangire savannah plains, lake burunge and the surrounding area.

-Rooms are well equipped with excellent and comfortable queen-sized bed that vary in size, with single beds for individuals, double/twin beds for sharing, as well as family rooming options

Meals served include barbecue breakfast, picnic lunch and  dinner .You can have meals in any place of your choice  served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff. they also serve bush diners  overlooking  the stars in the sky  and  bush breakfasts enjoying the morning sunrises.

 A well-stocked bar with a shared lounge serving a variety of drinks, local cocktails, wines, spirits and international beers, you relax and sip the cocktail or mocktail while overlooking the spectacular view over the park, lake Burunge and the surrounding area.

About the park

Tarangire national park is considered to be the sixth largest park in Tanzania, found in the southeast of  Manyara national park in the Northern part of Tanzania. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River that crosses the park and the river is the only source of fresh water for animals in the Tarangire eco system.  

It occupies a total area of 2,850 KM squared and is 150 km from Arusha. The park is small with twenty-six mammal, famous with large herd of big five animals like; Buffaloes , elephants, zebras, enlands,  Rhinos  Impalas ,antelopes, mention a few, and 500 bird species like yellow-necked, helmeted,  barbet,  starling ,swift ,stripped swallows etc.

The park has different categories of accommodation that include; Budget,   Mid-range and   luxury accommodations that are convenient and affordable to guests visiting tarangire national park.  There are more different  activities  to do while in the Park which include;  Game viewing, you spot different animals in the park), Visiting Tarangire river, Cultural visits in the local village,  Camping , Bird watching/Birding since the park has more bird species ,Boat trip at  Tarangire river , Night walking safaris, sightseeing trips, hot air balloon riding in tarangire park etc.  It’s $60 to enter the park. Dry season is the best period to visit  tarangire national park as animals are migrating in June-September, hence giving a chance to see some of the animals.
