Tarangire Kati Kati Camp

Tarangire Kati Kati Camp is a luxury mobile accommodation found close to Silale Swamp, in one of the wild’s rich areas within Tarangire National Park, Tanzania. The camp is owned by Tarangire Wilderness Camp, which runs unique properties across Tanzania. The camp is set on the grove of umbrella thorn trees, with stunning views over the vast African savanna. 

One can reach the camp from Arusha City by road transport which takes approximately 2-3 hours’ drive, or by a 50-minute flight to Kuro airstrip, then a few minutes’ drive to be transferred to the camp. The camp is convenient for tourists and travelers for Tanzania wildlife adventures and relaxation overlooking the beautiful views of the savanna and surrounding areas.

Tarangire Kati Kati tented camp contains 12 comfortable and elegant en suite tents, inclusive of 1 family tent overlooking the magnificent views of the park, built in traditional building styles with high levels of modern comfort.  Tents are well decorated, elevated with raised wooden platforms, and furnished with private en suite facilities with flushing toilets, bathrooms with hot and cold showers, bush showers, mosquito nets, wooden chairs, towels, toiletries, complementary bottled water, and dressing tables, to mention but a few.

Tents have verandas and large sitting areas; you relax while overlooking the stunning view over the Tarangire savannah plains and wildlife visiting the camp and surrounding area.  Tents are well equipped with excellent and comfortable queen-sized beds with clean and washed bedding. Tents vary in different sizes with single beds for individuals, double/twin beds for sharing, and triple/family tents as mentioned above.

A dining area that serves different meals, both international and African-inspired, that meets guests’ choices. Meals served include barbecue breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner. You can have meals in any place of your choice served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff .they also serve bush diners  overlooking  the stars in the sky  and  bush breakfast enjoying the morning sun rises .

 A well-stocked bar with a lounge offering a variety of drinks, local cocktails, wines, spirits, and international beers—you relax and sip the cocktail or monk tail  while overlooking  the spectacular view over the park  and   the surrounding area.

Activities to do while at the camp include game drives in the park that give a chance to spot different animals, bird watching since the park has different bird species, and nature walks, among many others.

Tarangire National Park is considered to be the sixth largest park in the country of Tanzania and is found southeast of Manyara National Park in the northern part of Tanzania. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River that crosses the park, and the river is the only source of fresh water for animals in the Tarangire ecosystem.

It occupies a total area of 2,850 km squared and is 150 km from Arusha. The park is small with twenty-six mammal, famous with large herd of big five animals like buffaloes, elephants, zebras, elands, rhinos, impalas, and antelopes, to mention but a few, and 500 bird species like yellow-necked, helmeted, and striped barbets, starlings, swifts, and swallows, etc.

The dry season is the best period to visit Tarangire National Park, as animals are migrating in June-September, hence giving a chance to see some of the animals.
