During your safari, you will stay at inexpensive campsites (with the exception of Lake Manyara and Tarangire, which are located outside of national parks).

This 8-day Tanzania camping safari is somewhat comparable to the 7-day safari, but it includes an extra day in Tarangire National Park, which takes you to all of Northern Tanzania’s well-known national parks. Additionally, public camps are available for this safari’s lodging. You will have the opportunity to see Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Tarangire National Park in one week plus one extra day. This eight-day safari in Tanzania will also include early-morning game drives and Ngorongoro walking safari.

DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY: 8-DAYS TANZANIA CAMPING SAFARI

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Before beginning your 8-day Tanzania camping safari, you will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and driven in a private vehicle to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay. Before your 8-day camping safari adventure begins, you will have the opportunity to take a walking tour through a coffee farm or visit Arusha National Park if time permits.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We leave for Tarangire National Park after breakfast, which is renowned for its vast herds of elephants, towering baobab trees, and tree-climbing pythons. Despite its tiny size, Tarangire National Park is still home to a sizable population of animals, second only to Ngorongoro in terms of wildlife density.

  • Accommodation: Migombani campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

 Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

You will be driven into the Ngorongoro Crater for your early-morning game drive after breakfast. The crater, a sizable, intact, and undamaged volcanic caldera, is the primary feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). Around two to three million years ago, a massive volcano erupted and then collapsed on itself, creating the crater. It is 260 km2 (100 square meters) in size and 610 m (2,000 feet) deep. The initial volcano is thought to have stood between fifteen and nineteen thousand feet (4,500 and 5,800 meters) tall. The big five animals—the lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo—are what make the crater famous. Zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, impalas, hippos, and several other bird species are among the other creatures you’ll witness.

  • Accommodation: Simba campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

We leave for the Serengeti with a packed lunch after an early breakfast. Serengeti, the oldest and most well-known national park, is noted for its yearly migration of wildebeests. To find new pasture, zebras and Thomson gazelles join the expedition. Buffalo, giraffes, elands, topis, kongonis, impalas, grant gazelles, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and jackals are some of the numerous animals that may be found in the Serengeti.

  • Accommodation: Seronera campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 5: A full day in Serengeti

Continue your full-day migration viewing in Serengeti National Park after breakfast. Due to the abundance of predators and prey in Serengeti National Park as well as the annual wildebeest migration, it is usually recognized as the best wildlife reserve in Africa.

  • Accommodation: Lobo campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

 Day 6: Lake Natron

After breakfast, depart for Lake Natron with a packed lunch. Cross Waso Village and Loliondo, then descend to the lake’s shores. Enjoy strolls over Lake Natron’s mud flats while observing the lesser East African flamingo. Make your way to the waterfalls with a local guide so you can unwind and go swimming before heading back to the Natron campground.

  • Accommodation: Natron campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park

We depart Lake Natron for Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast. The lake’s alkaline waters encompass around 89 square miles (231 km2) of the park’s 127 square miles (329 km2) total area. Although baboons are the lake’s most famous residents, hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes all call the lake and its surroundings home. The park’s renowned tree-climbing lions may also be viewed.

  • Accommodation: Sun bright campsite
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 8: Lake Manyara to Kilimanjaro International Airport/Arusha

Following breakfast, you will check out of the camp and be driven back to Kilimanjaro International Airport in preparation for your return journey. The eight-day camping safari will now come to a conclusion.
