6 Days Serengeti & Tarangire Wildlife Safari will take you to some of the amazing wildlife viewing destinations in the northern part of Tanzania and you will visit Tarangire national park, Serengeti national park and the Ngorongoro crater.

You will enjoy various game drives during the 6 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari and enjoy seeing wildlife species such as the big 5 in Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro conservation area. You will also enjoy seeing other wildlife species such as zebras, lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs, hartebeests, impalas, elands and many others.

During your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari, you will visit the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera which is the Ngorongoro crater where you will enjoy seeing the many flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi.

Your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari, you will begin your safari in Arusha and also end it in Arusha.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Tarangire national park

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and welcome you for your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari. You will have a short briefing about your safari and then begin your drive to the national park where you will enjoy seeing many elephants.

During your safari in Tarangire national park, you will also see various wildlife species as you engage in an afternoon game drive after you have had lunch at your lodge. You will also enjoy the diverse scenery in the national park as well as attractions such as Tarangire river which is a water point for different wildlife species which can be seen gathering to drink water. Your dinner and overnight will be at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 2; morning and afternoon game drives

Breakfast will be served at your lodge before you go for a morning game drive in Tarangire national park. You will enjoy seeing ancient baobab trees which stand out from the scenery in the national park. Wildlife species such as elephants, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, lions, leopards among others are very active in the morning and you will see a variety during your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari.

After having lunch at your lodge, you will have an afternoon game drive to experience more of the wilderness of Tarangire national park as you look out for wildlife and bird species. This national park has over 450 bird species such as the ashy starlings. You will enjoy watching the sunset on the way back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 3; drive to Serengeti national park

You will have breakfast at your lodge in Tarangire national park and later proceed to Serengeti national park which is another wildlife viewing destination you will visit during your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire national park. Serengeti national park is known for the big five animals which are a major safari highlight and they include elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos and rhinos.

Your guide will drive you around the savannah plains and woodlands of Serengeti national park after having lunch at your lodge and you will enjoy spotting various wildlife species such as wildebeests, hippos, elands, impalas, gazelles, giraffes, dik dik and many others. Dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti heritage tented camps and lodges.

Day 4; morning and afternoon game drives

You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti national park after having breakfast at your lodge during your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari. Your guide will drive you around the different attractions in the national park as you spot different wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, elands, rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, dik dik, and kudu among others.

Serengeti national park is also known for the wildebeest migration which takes place annually between Serengeti national park and Masai Mara national reserve in the south western part of Kenya. You will also engage in an afternoon game drive in the national park and later in the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night at Serengeti heritage tented camps and lodges.

Day 5; drive to Ngorongoro crater

You will visit the famous Ngorongoro crater after your safari in Serengeti national park. You will descend into the crater which is the world’s largest inactive crater which was formed as a result of volcanic activity. There are various wildlife species which can be seen in the crater and these include zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, impalas, elands, kudu, dik dik, lions, cheetahs, buffalos, rhinos and many others.

Among the attractions you will see during your tour around the Ngorongoro crater during your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari include Lake Magadi found in the center of the Ngorongoro crater. After exploring the amazing scenery of the Ngorongoro crater, your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 6; departure

On the last day of your 6 days Serengeti and Tarangire safari, your guide will drive you from your lodge in Ngorongoro conservation area back to Arusha which will bring your safari to an end.
