5 Days Best of Tanzania tour is a safari to the famous wildlife viewing destinations in the northern part of Tanzania which will begin in Arusha followed by a drive to Serengeti national park for wildlife viewing experiences and to engage in a variety of activities such as game drives, hot air balloon safari experience, an encounter with the Maasai people and to also visit different attractions around the national park, and also a visit to Arusha national park as seen in the itinerary below;

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; Pick up and drive to Serengeti national park

Pick up and drive to Serengeti: You will be picked up from the airport by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your 5 days Tanzania safari. After you have been briefed, you will be driven to Serengeti national park for a wildlife viewing experience.
On arrival in Serengeti national park, you will start with check in at your lodge as you prepare to have your lunch. After you have enjoyed your lunch, you will proceed for an evening game drive as you search for wildlife species such as the big five which includes rhinos, buffalos, leopards, lions and elephants. As you enjoy the evening sunset as well as the scenery during your evening game drive, your guide will drive you back to your lodge to have your dinner and to spend the night.

Day 2; Full day in Serengeti national park

Full day in Serengeti national park: On the 2nd day of your safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge before continuing into the wilderness of the national park to begin your wildlife viewing adventures for the rest of the day. During your morning game drive in Serengeti national park, you will see a variety of wildlife and bird species such as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, elands, waterbucks, kudus, lions, leopards, impalas, gazelles among others.
You will return to your lodge for lunch after your morning game drive. You will later have another game drive in the evening to see attractions such as the Seronera river valley where you will see a variety of wildlife in many numbers as they roam and graze in the open endless plains of Serengeti national park. During your game drive, you will enjoy views of the scenery around which comprises of savannah plains, kopjes such as Moru kopjes, Simba kopjes, Masai kopjes which are known for sightings of predators that sit atop of these rock outcrops waiting to attack their prey. You will return to your lodge to have your dinner and overnight after your game drive.

Day 3; Hot air balloon safari and community visit

Hot air balloon safari and community visit: After waking up early at your lodge on the 3rd day of your 5 days Tanzania safari, you will be driven to the landing point of the hot air balloons for a briefing as the hot air balloons are inflated for your aerial view of the open savannah plains of Serengeti national park.
During your hot air balloon experience, you will enjoy the views of the various attractions around the national park such as the rivers, rock outcroppings and you will also see wildlife species grazing in the savannah such as herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, leopards, gazelles, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, rhinos, impalas and the hot air balloon safari experience is magical especially during the wildebeest migration when thousands of wildebeest can be seen grazing in the savannah and crossing the Grumeti river which is filled with crocodiles that lie in wait to attack the wildebeest as they cross the river.
You will share champagne as well as some snacks at the landing site after your hot air balloon experience. After this experience, you guide will drive you back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will have a cultural experience with the Maasai people who you will interact with and get to know more about their nomadic way of life. You will engage in various attractions during your interaction with the Maasai such as visiting the “manyattas”, watching traditional dance performances among others. You will return to your lodge to have dinner and to spend the night after your community visit.

Day 4; Drive to Arusha national park and night in Arusha

Drive to Arusha national park and night in Arusha: On the 4th day of your 5 days Tanzania safari, breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park before you check out of the lodge. You will continue your journey to Arusha where you will check in at your hotel and have your lunch.
After lunch, you will be driven to Arusha national park for another wildlife viewing experience close to town. You will see wildlife species such as hyenas, leopards, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, gazelles as well as a variety of bird species. You will see attractions such as Mt Meru, lakes of Momella among others during your visit to the national park. After this experience, you will be driven back to your hotel where you will prepare to have your dinner and overnight.

Day 5; Departure

Departure: You will have breakfast at your hotel in Arusha; you will check out of the hotel and continue your journey to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at a location of your preference which will mark the end of your 5 days Tanzania safari.
