3 Days Tarangire Wildlife safari is a safari to one of Tanzania’s great bird watching sites which is also home to a variety of wildlife species as well as ancient baobab trees which graces its beautiful scenery.

There are over 500 bird species in Tarangire national park which is located in the northern part of Tanzania. The national park is crossed by Tarangire river which the park is named after and is also a major water source for the various wildlife species in the national park.

Tarangire national park covers about 2850 square kilometers and is located in the south western direction from Arusha. It is part of the northern tourist circuit which is also made up of Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro conservation area, Lake Manyara national park and Arusha national park.

The 3 days Tarangire national park safari will begin and also end in Arusha town.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Tarangire national park

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro international airport or your hotel in Arusha by your guide who will welcome you and brief you shortly about your 3 days Tarangire safari. You will proceed to the national park which will take about 2 to 3 hours from Arusha and later check in at your lodge for lunch.

After you have enjoyed your lunch, you will engage in an afternoon game drive in Tarangire national park as you explore the savannah plains and enjoy seeing various wildlife species such as the herds of elephants as well as leopards, lions, zebras, buffalos, antelopes, klipspringers and a variety of bird species like the ashy starlings and the rufous tailed weavers. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 2; full day in Tarangire national park

After having breakfast at your lodge on the 2nd day of your 3 days Tarangire safari, you will move with your packed lunches for a full day of exploring Tarangire national park and its attractions as well as enjoying an amazing Game viewing experience as you drive around the baobab trees and savannah trees in the national park. You will see a variety of wildlife species in the morning since they are very active at this time of day such as leopards, elephants, zebras, antelopes, elands, gazelles, lions among others.

You will also engage in an afternoon game drive after lunch as you enjoy seeing more wildlife species and the beautiful landscape. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge at the end of your wildlife viewing and dinner and overnight will be at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 3; Departure

On the last day of your 3 days Tarangire safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, you will have an en-route game drive on your way back to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at the airport which will bring your safari to an end.
