3 Days Tarangire & Serengeti Wildlife safari is a safari with wildlife experiences in 2 different national parks with unique attractions and safari activities in the northern part of Tanzania starting from Arusha town.

Serengeti national park which you will visit during your 3 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari is the oldest national park in Tanzania and it covers over 14750 square kilometers and is home to various wildlife species including the famous big 5 like elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions and leopards. This national park is also popular for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeests during the great wildebeest migration which also takes place in Masai Mara national reserve in the south western part of Kenya.

During your 3 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari, you will also visit Tarangire national park and enjoy seeing its large herds of elephants and various bird species. You will engage in morning and afternoon game drives during your safari as you explore the different attractions in Serengeti national park and Tarangire national park.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Tarangire national park

You will start your 3 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari with pick up from Kilimanjaro international airport by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your safari. After your short briefing, you will proceed to Tarangire national park for check in at your lodge and also to have your lunch as you prepare for your game drive.

During your afternoon game drive in Tarangire national park, you will see a variety of wildlife species such as elephants, lions, leopards, gazelles, impalas, klipspringers, elands as well as different bird species like the rufous tailed weavers and shy starlings. You will also enjoy seeing attractions like Tarangire river during your 3 days safari in Tarangire national park and after this experience, your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 2; drive to Serengeti national park

After having breakfast at your lodge in Tarangire national park during your 3 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park also located in the northern part of Tanzania for more wildlife viewing experiences. You will enjoy a safari experience as you look out for various wildlife species such as the big five in Serengeti national park which includes elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. You will have lunch at your lodge in the national park as you prepare for an afternoon game drive.

You will be driven from your lodge by your guide as you explore the vast savannah and dotted landscape of Serengeti national park in search of different wildlife species such as cheetahs, warthogs, hyenas, hippos, antelopes, gazelles, impalas, elands and many others. Watching as predators such as lions and leopards hunt is one of the things to look forward to during a game drive as you observe the wildlife species in the savannah. You will also enjoy the amazing scenery of Serengeti national park as you watch the sunset and return to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.

Day 3; morning game drive or hot air balloon experience and drive to Arusha

Breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park before your morning game drive during which you will enjoy seeing a variety of wildlife species which are more active in the morning such as elephants, lions, leopards, elands, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hippos, buffalos and many others. You will also enjoy seeing various bird species and rock outcrops referred to as kopjes like Simba kopjes in Serengeti national park where you can see lions.

Alternatively, you can engage in a hot air balloon safari in Serengeti national park which will give you an aerial view of the rest of the national park and its various attractions. After this experience, the passengers interact with each other and also enjoy snacks and champagne at the landing site of the hot air balloon.

You will proceed to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha or at the airport and this will bring your 3 days Tarangire and Serengeti safari to an end.
